VolkoV is a perfect hybrid. Fast hard metal, but melodically constructed. Lots of ethnic and especially middle-eastern scales and harmonies, in addition to ethnic instruments and percussion itself, flutes, hand drums, didj's, and classical orchestration add a very natural, organic, and earthy element. Industrial synths, distorted drums sounds, techno pads and drum elements create a very gritty, stark, synthetic compliment to the organic tones; all of which is laid over the powerful 'vehicle' of Metal. Basically, we are somewhat unclassifiable. We're electric, but were's also acoustic. We're hard, but we're also melodic and deep. We're synthetic, but we're also organic and alive. Never belonging fully to the limitations and expectations of any single genre... Metal and melody, electronic and organic, united into a single howling vision.

...Rather like our mascot... Themologically, there is a very primal, anamistic quality to each of us, and our sound. As well as a lot of supernatural, occult, and spiritual elements in the songwriting; we're about the hidden things, the dark things, the things we try to ignore around us. People live life half dead, half blind, and half deaf; and we want to deliver a massive "WAKE THE FUCK UP!" with our music. Yeah, we sing about love and broken hearts; but also about death, about life, about abuse, neglect, freedom, confinement, joy, hate; about the duality and polarity present in every aspect of reality.
